4)
Which of the following is the Fourth from the left of eighth from the left end?

Ans :
Fourth from the left of eighth from the left end
i) read the question from last . first go to left end of question . i.e 8th from the left as shown below

Fourth from the left of eighth
Note: shortcut for above question is Fourth from the left of
                                                           eighth from the left end

If the question is given like above same side as left we need to subtract 8-4 = 4
Now go 4th number from left .

ii)     If the question will be                Fourth from the Right of
                                                           eighth from the Right  end
 Here also we need to subtract 8-4 = 4. Answer will be 4th letter from right side.

iii) If the question will be     Fourth from the right of
                                              eighth from the left end
Here directions are different so add the numbers . 8+4 = 12 . Now we will get doubt we have to go from right side or left side . Answer will be last sentence i. e Left side 12 from left side

Order and Ranking For SBI Clerk prelims

In this session we need to learn one main important formula to find the answers for order and ranking. i. e

T = L + R -1

Here T = Total number of persons
        L= Rank from the Left side
        R= Rank from the Right side

This formula is applicable only when we are saying about only one person in a row .

Ex: In a Row of 30 students . Raju is 14th from the Right . Then what is the Raju position from left ?

                     T= R+L -1
                   30= 14+L-1
                   L= 30-13 =17

Ex: In a Row  f children's ammu is sitting 12th from the right and 17th from the left . Then what is the total number of children's in a row?

                    T= 12+17-1
                    T=28
Ex: In a row of girls , swathi is 15th from the Left and Ravi is 23rd from the Right . If their positions are interchanged, then Swathi becomes 18th from the Left. Then at what position will Ravi from the right?
Ans :

Ex: In a row of 26th student's  Reka is 12th from the Left and Haritha is 7th from the right. Divya is sitting exactly between then. Then what will be the Divya position from Right and Left?

Ans :

SBI Clerk 2018 Number Series Tricks

We will get questions on numbers series based on below five methods:

1) Series based on Square or Cube: In this case we will find the difference of the numbers and we will get the answers

Ex : 31, 33, 40, 68, 131, ?

Ans :

31 + (13 + 1) = 31 + 2 = 33
33 + (2
3 - 1) = 33 + 7 = 40
40 + (3
3 + 1) = 40 + 28 = 68
68 + (4
3 - 1) = 68 + 63 = 131
131 + (5
3 + 1) = 131 + 126 = 257

Ex: 11        13        20        48        111        ?( Practice : ans :237)

2) Series based on Decimal number: If you will find any decimal number in the question . Answer will be multiply by * 0.5 or 1.5

Ex : i) 12, 6.5, 7.5, 17, 72, ?

Ans :

12x 0.5 + 0.5 = 6.5
6.5 x 1 + 1 = 7.5

7.5 x 2 + 2 = 17
17 x 4 + 4 = 72

72 x 8 + 8 = 584

Ex : 6        3.5        4.5        11        48        ? ( Practice : ans :392)

3) Completely Divisible series : If the same numbers are exist in the question. Maximum answer will follows the Divisible method.

Ex : 12  , 12  ,  18  , 45  , 180  ,   ?

Ans :

12 /12 =1

18/12 = 1.5

45/18 = 2.5

180/45 =4

x/180 = 6

x = 180*6=1080

 here you will get question like how we have written x/180 is 6

see the difference from top from 1 to 1.5 is 0.5

                                            from 1.5 to 2.5 is 1

                                            from 2.5 to 4 is 1.5

                                     we need to get next difference is 2 so from 4 to 6 is 2

4) Half Pattern series : Whenever you will find the second number is near of half of first number and third number is near of second number . Then , that series is based on  Half Pattern Series.

Whenever your series is Half pattern . as per the name it is required we have to multiply with 0.5

Ex : 70     ,       40     ,       50     ,   90         ,  200   ,        ?

Ans :

(70 *0.5 )+5 = 40

(40*1 )+10 =50

(50*1.5)+15 =90

(90*2)+20 = 200

(200*2.5)+25 =525

5) Series based on Multiplication :. If any series you will find that number is suddenly increased bulk . That series is based on multiplication.

Ex : 3, 4, 10, 33, 136, ?

Ans :

x 1 + 1 = 4
4 x 2 + 2 = 10
10 x 3 + 3 = 33
33 x 4 + 4 = 136
136 x 5 + 5 = 685

 Ex: Practice :

6         16         45         184         917         ?

Ans :5508

Permutations and Combinations Basics

Before we are going to solve the problems on Permutations and Combinations lets understand the basics.

Permutations: The different arrangements of a given number of things by taking some or all at a time, are called permutations.
Ex: Take a, b , c are 3 letters and arrange the 2 letter words  with these letters.

Ans:                ab , ac , ba , bc , ca , cb

How to find number of Permutations ?
Ans:  Number of all permutations of n things , taken r at a time, is given by :

  Here n! = n (n-1)(n-2).................................1.
            3!= 3*2*1 = 6

Ex:

Ans :

Combinations: Each of the different selections which can be formed by taking some or all of a number of objects, is called a combination.
Ex: Take a , b, c are three persons . we want to select 2 out 3 . then the possible selections are ab , bc , ca.

Some Important models on Simplifications problems

In this article we are going to tell tricks for some simplification problems which you will get in bank exams every time.
Example :
Find the value of 115 % of 430 + 36% 0f 170.
Ans:
Write 115 % as (100+10+5) %                    36% we can write as (30+6)%
          100 % 0f 430 means 430                                30% of 170 means 51
           10 % of 430 means 43                                  1% means 1.7
            5% means 43/2 i.e 21.5                                 6% means 6*1.7=10.2
 add above 3 values 430
                                   43                                         add both values i.e (30+6)% =51+10.2=61.2
                                   21.5
                                 ----------
                                  494.5

               115 % of 430 + 36% 0f 170 = 494.5+61.2 = 555.7

Example :
Find the value of 3(1/2) +5(3/4)-2(7/8)
Ans:
        Write the above question as below                                      {x(a/b) = x+(a/b)}
                     3+5-2+(1/2)+(3/4)-(7/8)
                      6+(3/8)
                     we can write 6+(3/8) as 6(3/8)

Example :Evaluate

Ans:
In the above question 34^2 - 56^2
 we can write as (34+56)(34-56)
                               (34+56)(34-56)/(34+56)
 answer will be 34-56 i.e -22

Note :
we have to learn some formulas for this type of questions .

Example: find the value of  x .

62   ×  (65)4 ÷ 63  =  6x+2
Ans:

62   ×  (65)4 ÷ 63  =  6x+2

62×620 ÷63 = 6x+2

62+20÷63 = 6x+2

622÷63=6x+2

622-3=6x+2

619=6x+2

X+2=19

X=19-2

X=17
Note: We have to learn some formulas to solve the above model questions . that are

Xm . Xn  =  Xm+n

Xm ÷ Xn  = Xm-n

Xm = Xn  --------à    m=n
