Syllogism topic is very important in reasoning section of all competitive exams. If you understand the basics of syllogisms and how to draw Venn diagram. I am sure that after learning the basics you will be able to solve the 5 Questions in just two minutes.


How to solve the questions:


Step 1: Draw the Venn Diagram.


Step 2: Derive the conclusions


In the question you will have the Statements and Conclusions. By using Statements you need to draw the venn diagram and next derive the conclusions as following:

STATEMENT:

1 ) Some Apples are Mangoes

2 ) All Mangoes are Bananas

CONCLUSION:

I)    All Bananas are Mangoes

II )  All Apples are Bananas

III)  Some Apples are Bananas

IV)  Some Mangoes are Apples

Ans:

Conclusion I : False

                   II: False

                   III: True ( Blue color part)

                   IV) True ( Pink color part)

Conclusion III and IV are        

Example 2:

STATEMENT:

 1) All fish are birds

2) Some hens are fish

CONCLUSION:

I ) Some hens are birds

II)  All birds are hens

Ans:

         

Conclusion I : True ( Blue color part )

                  II: False

 Only Conclusion I Follows
